Residential Penthouse: MacAurther Residents

This was a seven week project. The objective was to identify, analyze, and understand the basic patterns of residential design and built environments. To include basic concepts of sustainable design as applied to residential design and other built environments.

Project platform:

  • Four initial unfinished city condos starting at 2,400 square foot to select from.
  • A family of three with two pet macaw birds.

Limitations by clients style, needs of the clients, forming of rooms needed, budget limitations, pre-existing furnishings and collections for display and preservations, needs for the macaw birds living space. – The total cost for the purchase/renovation/uplift of their new house had to be kept to $240,000 The unit they are looking at is a 2,400 square foot unit and the base condominium cost for the unfinished space is $70,000.


Grad-Students Home

  • This was a Two week project. It was to be seen as a “miniature” project meant to help gather and understand the requirements that are used in design.
  • The Project Platform:
    • Unfinished 539 square foot apartment space.
    • 27 year old graduate medical student at New York University Medical Center.

Limitations by clients style, needs, budget, pre-existing furnishings, and last but not least the needs of the clients feline companion.
